Getting more complicated
In preparation for the MasterForge, I wanted to really go for broke and make a tray that could integrate the USBc cable to bridge the two MasterForge pieces and allow maximum flexibility in width, tent angulation, turntable, and handpiece angle. Behold: the Accordion Tray! It collapses small enough to fit in a medium camera bag and can expand to the wide width of the lap tray and can also sit under a laptop for those people who want that. The pictured prototype is made of starfield speckled acrylic has both a USBc and a 3.5 mm audio cable snaking through the accordion so that it is ready for the CC1, the CC2, or the MasterForge. It was a real pain to figure out how to get the cables secured so that they wouldn’t get pinched between the scissor pieces and would fold and unfold with the accordion. This prototype also has a small USB Hub to attach other peripherals (like a Touch ID button).
